I’m Bulbul Ahmed. Through BDS Digital Marketing Agency, I’ve spent more than 5 years helping businesses in Bangladesh and the USA grow online. One question I hear again and again is: “What do we actually gain from SEO? Where’s the proof?”
So in today’s blog, I’m not making any big claims. I’m showing you a direct screenshot from Google Search Console, comparing the last 28 days with the 28 days before them.

What Does the Search Console Report Show?
| Metric | Previous 28 Days | Last 28 Days |
|---|---|---|
| Total Clicks | 4.47K | 5.41K (about +21%) |
| Total Impressions | 219K | 229K |
| Average CTR | 2% | 2.4% |
| Average Position | 7.4 | 8.9 |
What These Numbers Really Mean
1. Clicks Grew Much Faster Than Impressions
Impressions rose by only about 4-5%, yet clicks rose by roughly 21%. That means a larger share of the people who see our links on Google are choosing to click them. This is usually the result of compelling titles, clear meta descriptions, and content that matches search intent.
2. CTR Improved
CTR climbed from 2% to 2.4%. It may look small, but it’s about 20% higher than before. No matter how many impressions a site gets, it makes no difference to the business unless people click.
3. The Honest Truth About Average Position
Our average position moved from 7.4 to 8.9, which is slightly lower. Remember, a smaller position number means a better ranking. When a site starts appearing for many new keywords, those keywords usually enter the results at lower positions first, which can pull the overall average down a little. That’s why you shouldn’t judge performance by a single number. Look at all the metrics together.
The Work Behind These Results
- Keyword research: finding out what people actually search for
- On-page SEO: improving titles, headings, meta descriptions, and internal links
- Technical SEO: keeping the site fast, mobile-friendly, and properly indexed
- Content: publishing genuinely useful articles consistently
- Data analysis: using Search Console to refine our strategy continuously
Our process has four steps: Discovery (understanding goals and market), Strategize (a data-backed roadmap), Implementation (putting the plan into action), and Analysis & Optimization (improving continuously based on results).
Three Lessons for Your Business
- SEO is a game of consistency. There’s no overnight magic, but steady work moves the graph upward over time.
- Learn to read your data. Google Search Console is free. Doing marketing without it is like walking in the dark.
- Customers matter more than rankings. Measure SEO success by clicks, leads, and sales.
