Marketing experts claim that there are now 11 main tactics that firms use to get customers’ attention online. Each strategy has its own job to do when it comes to getting, keeping, and converting clients.
People who work in the industry say that brands can’t rely on just one strategy anymore. In 2025, digital marketing is a game with several channels. “Those who integrate, test, and adapt quickly are the winners,” says marketing strategist Farhana Rahman.
1. SEO, or search engine optimization
SEO is still the most important part of digital outreach. It is all about making a website more visible in search engines like Google and Bing. This includes looking for keywords, optimizing pages, establishing backlinks, and making technical changes to make sure the site loads faster and works well on mobile devices.
2. Marketing on search engines (SEM)
SEM, on the other hand, uses paid ads, especially pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns, to go to the top of the site right away. In this area, Google Ads and Microsoft Ads are the most popular.
3. Marketing with content
Blogs, infographics, case studies, and white papers are no longer simply for branding; they are now essential for teaching people and creating trust over time. Content marketing that works combines telling stories with putting keywords in the right places.
4. Marketing on social media
Social media marketing includes both organic participation and targeted ads on sites like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn. To get people to interact more, brands are trying out live streaming, polls, and short movies.
5. Marketing using email
Email marketing is still one of the best ways to make money online, even if it’s old. Businesses are turning leads into loyal consumers by using automation, segmentation, and targeted content.
6. Marketing through affiliates
In this approach, affiliates receive payment for driving traffic or generating sales. Big e-commerce companies like Amazon have helped it flourish around the world, and local brands are quickly following up.
7. Marketing using influencers
Working with social media stars is now a common strategy. Authenticity is the most important thing for success, whether you are a micro-influencer with a small audience or a celebrity with millions of followers.
8. Ads on Display
These are adverts that show up on websites and apps, like pop-ups, banner ads, and video commercials. Programmatic advertising platforms currently use AI to identify the right audience in real time.
9. Marketing Using Videos
YouTube is still the most popular site, but short-form sites like TikTok and Instagram Reels are changing the way businesses communicate stories. The most popular types of content include tutorials, product demos, and behind-the-scenes videos.
10. Marketing on mobile.
More than 80% of people in Bangladesh who use the internet are on smartphones. Because of this, any company that wants to reach many people must use mobile-first tactics like in-app ads, SMS blasts, and push notifications.
11. Improving the Conversion Rate (CRO)
Getting people to your site is only the first step. Conversion rate optimization (CRO) makes sure that more visitors do what you want them to do, like buy something or sign up for a newsletter. This includes A/B testing, heatmaps, and looking at how users act.
The Road Ahead
Experts believe that the differences between these types will continue to blur. Established channels are already incorporating AI-driven personalization, voice search optimization, and immersive experiences like augmented reality.
Rahman says, “In 2025, digital marketing is less about shouting louder and more about being smarter.” “The brands that know their customers well and give them value at the right time will win.”
